The S.S. Cruizer

The S.S. Cruizer The ship exhibit was designed to meet state Curriculum objectives in science & history. It features great lakes navigation & safety equipment provided by the U.S. Coast Guard as well as a 17 ft. wall mural depicting the history of the Port of St. Joseph, Lighthouse & River area in the early 1900's.

Young sailors will be able to send signal flags to shore, navigate the ship with the captains wheel, compass & navigational charts, load & unload cargo with the boom, fish off the side of the ship & learn about different kinds of Great Lakes fish, prepare the crews meal on the antique stove, explore the captains trunk with clothes & hats, and much more!

*Exhibits are always changing with a mix of new displays and old favorites.
